Chissà se venerdì scorso, prima di iniziare l'ospitata negli studi de La7, Franco Bernabé ha concordato con Lilli Gruber la trasferta londinese di mercoledì all'appuntamento annuale del Gruppo Bilderberg.
Nelle liste di partecipanti, più o meno ufficiose, che si trovano in rete, infatti, figurano cinque italiani all'edizione dello scorso anno: il presidente della Telecom e la conduttrice di "Otto e mezzo", appunto, oltre a Nagel di Mediobanca, Cucchiani di Intesa, Rocca di Techint e Mario Monti, assenti il presidente della Fiat John Elkann, l'ad dell'Enel Fulvio Conti e l'attuale premier in carica, Enrico Letta. All'ultima edizione, dopo che non aveva mancato un appuntamento per diversi anni, non ha invece partecipato Mario Monti, diventato presidente del Consiglio.

The 61st Bilderberg meeting is set to take place from 6 until 9 June 2013 in Hertfordshire, UK. A total of around 140 participants from 21 European and North American countries have confirmed their attendance. Founded in 1954, Bilderberg is an annual conference designed to foster dialogue between Europe and North America.
Every year, between 120-150 political leaders and experts from industry, finance, academia and the media are invited to take part in the conference. About two thirds of the participants come from Europe and the rest from North America; one third from politics and government and the rest from other fields.
The conference has always been a forum for informal, off-the-record discussions about megatrends and the major issues facing the world. Thanks to the private nature of the conference, the participants are not bound by the conventions of office or by pre-agreed positions. As such, they can take time to listen, reflect and gather insights.
There is no detailed agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued.

Per quanto si sforzi, al solito, di mantenere il massimo della segretezza intorno alla propria attività , il misteriosi Club Bilderberg - la "setta" dei potenti della terra - scatena, ogni volta di più, sospetti e polemiche. Mercoledì, per il tradizionale meeting annuale, si riuniranno a Watford, nell'Hertfordshire, alle porte di Londra (è il ritorno nel Regno Unito dopo 15 anni), in un iper-esclusivo hotel, The Grove, con Spa e golf a 18 buche.
Considerate le proteste recenti, nel 2011 a Saint Moritz e, 12 mesi fa, a Chantilly, in Virginia, negli Usa, le autorità britanniche sono in stato di massima allerta. La polizia locale avrebbe già informato il ministero dell'Interno dei possibili "costi imprevisti o eccezionali" da sostenere per eventuali manifestazioni di gruppi anarchici e anti-sistema.
