Ahi! Gli Emmy sono tornati bianchi. Anzi bianchissimi. Trionfo assoluto di attori e di serie bianchissime agli Emmy. E dominio assoluto di Netflix con ben 44 premi, che lascia HBO a soli 19 premi. Nell’anno più cupo della pandemia, insomma, trionfano le grandi serie bianche a cominciare dall’inglesissima “The Crown”, con tutti i suoi attori, Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor, Gillian Anderson, Tobias Menzies, dalla più cupa “Omicidio a Easttown” con Kate Winslet, che urla sul palco “YES!!! I AM THE WINNERS!!!”, “Halston” con lo strepitoso Ewan McGregor nel ruolo del genio della moda Halston, “Hacks” con Jean Smart al suo quarto Emmy.

DA “The Queen’s Gambit”, che vince per la regia e la categoria di miglior serie limitata. Ma non c’è un attore nero, da Zendaya a Regina King, che abbia vinto qualcosa, anche se le lacrime sono per il povero Michael K. Williams che troppo presto se ne è andato. Per non parlare delle grandi serie nere della stagione, “The Undergrond Railroad” di Barry Jenkins, che esce totalmente sconfitta agli Emmy.

 

L’unico premio, importante va detto, vinto dalla comunità nera è quella per la sceneggiatura di una serie limitata che va a Michaela Coel, sceneggiatrice di “I May Destroy You”, che segna la prima vittoria in assoluto di una sceneggiatrice donna nera agli Emmy. Basterà? “È passato un anno”, si legge nell’editoriale della rivista “Indiewire”, “e molti di noi si sono ritirati nel mondo della televisione.
