I GLOBI DEI GIUSTI - PRONOSTICI: SE LA GIOCANO “BOYHOOD” E “BIRDMAN”, TRA GLI ATTORI SPICCANO CUMBERBATCH E JULIANNE MOORE - TRA I REGISTI WES ANDERSON ALLA PRIMA CANDIDATURA - SNOBBATI “INTERSTELLAR” E “AMERICAN SNIPER” DI EASTWOOD

Tempo di premi. Arrivano le nominations dei Golden Globe, le scelte cioè di 100 critici stranieri che riguardano film e serie tv americane. Importanti sia per come da sempre i Golden Globe influenzino le scelte per gli Oscar, sia per capire come si stia modellando la nuova mappa dei personaggi e delle mode del cinema e della tv.

 

Il fatto che film come Birdman di Alejandro Inarritu, con sette nominations, Boyhood di Richard Linklater e Imitation Game di Mortin Tydlum, con cinque, ma anche Gone Girl di David Fincher, Grand Budapest Hotel di Wes Anderson, Selma di Ava DuVernay e Theory of Everything di James Marsh con quattro, siano i film più votati e quindi quelli riconosciuti tra i migliori dell’anno, mentre non sono quasi stati considerati Interstellar di Christopher Nolan, American Sniper di Clint Eastwood, lo stesso Big Eyes di Tim Burton, anche se sono candidati i due protagonisti, sono indicazioni forti.

Anche la scomparsa tra le nominations di star come Angelina Jolie, neoregista per Unbroken, Bradley Cooper, protagonista di American Sniper, o il fatto che venga nominato Matthew McConaughey per True Detectives ma non per Interstellar, o che Juliane Moore, dopo aver vinto a Cannes con Maps to the Star, abbia ben due nominations, una per lo stesso film di David Cronenberg e l’altra per Still Alice, sono indicazioni precise dei gusti della critica. E è interessante notare che in tv la HBO domini il mercato con 15 nomination, lasciando Netfix a 7, o che nel cinema la Fox ne abbia 12 contro le 10 di Harvey Weinstein e i 6 della Sony.

Tra i film stranieri nulla è riconosciuto al cinema italiano, e questo promette poco di buono per la corsa de Il capitale umano di Paolo Virzì agli Oscar. Andiamo per ordine, però. Come migliori film drammatici troviamo appunto i già ricordati Boyhood, che ci sembra tra i favoriti sia per il Golden Globe che per l’Oscar, e sarebbe uno scandalo se non vincesse, poi Foxcatcher, il complesso film di Barrett Miller tratto da un cupo fatto di cronaca, The Imitation Game, biografia un po’ accademica della vita e del dramma di Alan Turing, l’inventore del computer, Selma e The Theory of Everything. Le migliori commedie sono Birdman, che è il più probabile vincitore, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Into the Woods, l’inglese Pride e St. Vincent.

 

Birdman

Tra gli attori “drammatici” se la battono Steve Carrell, il rampollo pazzo e miliardario di Foxcatcher, il geniale Benedict Cumberbatch di The Imitation Game, lo sciacallo della notte Jake Gyllenhall di Nitghcrawlers, David Oyelowo di Selma e Eddie Redmayne di The Theory of Everithing. Tutti dissociati, malati, cocainomani, fuori di testa. Dovrebbe vincere Benedict Cumberbatch, che è di fatto l’attore dell’anno. Tra le attrice drammatiche se la vedono Julianne Moore malata per Still Alice e la Rosamund Pike dark lady per il meraviglioso Gone Girl. Hanno buone chances anche Jennifer Aniston, Reese Whiterspoon e Felicity Jones.

Tra gli attori di commedie lo scontro è tra il Michael Keaton di Birdman, geniale e coraggioso nell’affrontare il ruolo di un attore che è stato un supereroe esattamente come lui, il Joaquin Phoenix di Inherent Vice e il Christoph Waltz di Big Eyes. Hanno meno chances, crediamo, Ralph Fiennes per The Grand Budapest Hotel, Bill Murray per St. Vincent. Tra le attrici di commedia ricompare Julianne Moore per Maps to the Stars, ma hanno molte possibilità anche Amy Adams per Big Eyes di Tim Burton, di fatto è il suo primo grande film, e la Quvenzhane Wallis del musical Annie al suo secondo film dopo l’esordio piccolissima come Hushpuppy in Beasts of the Southern Wild.

Ma ci sono pure Helen Mirren e Emily Blunt in gara. Tra i non protagonisti brillano i genitori del ragazzino di Boyhood, Patricia Arquette e Ethan Hawke, il grande vecchio Robert Duvall di The Judge, l’esplosivo Edward Norton e la bella Emma Stone di Birdman, e l’eterna Meryl Streep che fa la strega in Into the Woods. Tra i film animati dovrebbe vincere tranquillamente Big Hero 6. Tra i film stranieri se la battono il polacco Ida, l’israeliano Vivian, il russo Leviathan. E va detto che Il capitale umano ci poteva stare benissimo in cinquina.

 

Probabilmente è stato punito per il fatto che è tratto da un romanzo anglofono. Tra i migliori registi la lotta è tra Wes Anderson, mai stato canidato, David Fincher, Alejandro Inarritu, Richard Linklater e l’emergente Ava DuVernay di Selma. La musica potrebbe andare all’incredibile lavoro che hanno fatto Trent Raznor e Atticuss Ross per Gone Girl di David Fincher, ma riconosco che è notevole anche l’Antonio Sanchez di Birdman e che Alexander Desplat, di solito trombonissimo, ha indovinato la colonna sonora di The Imitation Game.

THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL

 

Tra serie e miniserie troviamo campioni ben noti al nostro pubblico. Come il malefico duo Kevin Spacey-Robin Wright di House of Cards, il chirurgo cocainomane di The Knick Clive Owen, la Claire Danes di Homeland, l’incredibile coppia di ispettori di True Detective Woody Harrelson-Matthew McConaughey, o quella formata da Frances McDormand e Bill Murray per Olive Kitteridge. Come migliore serie se la battono The Affair, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, House of Cards. I vincitori saranno premiati in diretta NBC l’11 gennaio.
